Roblox usernames use 3–20 characters: letters, numbers and up to one underscore. The underscore cannot go at the beginning or end. Spaces and decorative Unicode fonts are not username characters.

A Roblox username generator builds name ideas from word banks so you do not have to start from a blank signup box. This one pairs a first word and a second word from a style bank — cool, aesthetic, cute, funny or gaming — and optionally adds your own keyword, a pair of digits, or an underscore. Every result follows the basic Roblox username format: letters, numbers, and at most one underscore, between 8 and 20 characters long.
What comes out is a plain-text name you can copy straight into Roblox. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and no account is needed. The generator runs entirely in your browser, so you can generate as many batches as you like.
Usernames are not display names
Roblox gives every account two names. The username is unique, permanent unless you pay to change it, and limited to letters, numbers and one underscore. The display name sits on top of it, does not have to be unique, and can be changed more freely. This page generates usernames. If you want decorative text for a display name, bio or game description, try our fancy text generator or cursive name generator instead — those produce Unicode styles that Roblox will not accept as a username but may display elsewhere.
How to Use the Roblox Username Generator
- Pick a style: Random, Cool, Aesthetic, Cute, Funny or Gaming.
- Optionally type a word you want in the name — a nickname, a pet, a favorite game, a color. Letters and numbers only, up to 12 characters.
- Set the maximum name length with the slider, and toggle numbers or an underscore if you want them.
- Click Generate usernames. Twelve ideas appear. Click any card to copy that name, or use Copy all to grab the whole batch.
- Paste the name into Roblox’s signup form or your account settings to see whether it is available.
If a keyword is too long for the chosen length, the generator tells you to shorten it or raise the length — it never truncates your word silently.

Tips for a Username You Will Still Like Next Year
- Avoid personal details. No real names, birth years, school names or locations. Roblox’s safety rules discourage it, and it makes the name harder to keep private.
- Prefer words over numbers. A two-word name like
VelvetEchoreads better thanVelvet2019. Use the numbers toggle only if your favorite is taken. - Keep it short. Names under 12 characters are easier to type, easier to remember, and easier for friends to find.
- Test how it sounds. Say it out loud. If you would be happy hearing it in voice chat, it is probably a keeper.
- Mix styles. The Random option pulls from every bank, so a cute word and a gaming word can land in one name.

Can I use symbols or cursive text in my username?
Use letters, numbers and at most one underscore. Fancy Unicode letters, spaces and emoji are not part of the basic Roblox username format. For decorative text in a display name or bio, use the fancy text generator.
